Dermapen Microneedling
The principle behind skin needling (microneedling) has been around for thousands of years. The microfine needles create a virtually painless “controlled injury”. When the body goes to fix that injury, it creates new collagen and elastin within the skin. It’s an effective and natural rejuvenation that offers results within a couple of treatments. It’s safe for all skin types and colours.
Dermapen Microneedling Treatments are recommended for targeting the following:

Advanced skin needling gives results similar to fractional laser treatments but without the side effects and downtime. It’s also more effective than most microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
The Dermapen is so advanced that it is even suitable and safe to use in delicate and hard to reach áreas, such as around the eyes, lips, and nose, whilst the adjustable needle depths allow for a treatment tailored to your individual needs. This treatment induces elastin and collagen production, which plump out wrinkles as well as create traction (skin tightening effect).
Your therapist will assess your skin and treatment area to recommend a treatment plan suitable for you.
When will I see results?
After 2-5 days your skin will feel tighter and rejuvenated.
We recommend a course of 3-6 depending on your skin condition/concern for better results.
How many sessions should I have?
Rejuvenation: 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6 weeks apart
Stretch marks: 4-6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart
How long is the treatment?
The micro needling treatment will take around 10-15 minutes we also include the LED Tai-Wave light therapy following this treatment for 10 minutes.
Can anyone have the treatment?
A full consultation will be done to discuss your treatment plan but there are some definite contraindications and considerations as follows:
Papulopustular rosacea
Acne stage 3-5
Herpes simplex
Warts
Bacterial fungal infections
Open lesions
Haemophilia
Skin cancer
Solar keratosis
Scleroderma
Will it hurt?
Minimal to moderate discomfort depending on your skin type/concern/condition.
Should I prepare my skin?
For optimal results, we recommend a period of effective active treatment creams such as Vit A, Vit C or Vit E to allow the skin’s strength to build- up (especially for thin or delicate skin areas). Continue to use these recommended solutions after the treatments for a period of 6 weeks.
When can I have Dermapen after Botox?
It’s recommended to leave at least 14 days after filler injections so that any post treatment bruising from the fillers can settle. Or have your Dermapen treatment 1- 2 days before having your fillers or Botox injected.
